Repeat Prescriptions
Prescription Fees

newpills1.jpgWe run a computerised system to issue repeat prescriptions, only for drugs which have already been agreed with your doctor.

To order a repeat prescription, please either hand a written request to the receptionist, telephone the surgery between the hours of 10 am and 1 pm or follow the link below to the online form.

Please allow 48 hours for your prescription to be processed.  The surgery closes at 6pm on Friday evening, so you should ensure that you have enough medication for the weekend.  Prescriptions can be sent to the pharmacy of your choice. This will mean that the prescription will be ready for you when you call to collect it. There are two branches of W H B Sutherland, one in Victoria Street, Stromness and one in Kirkwall,  a pharmacy in Dounby and a branch of Boots in Kirkwall. Please note that if you wish to collect your prescription from one of the Kirkwall chemists, you should allow an extra day for it to be processed.

To minimise the possibility of error, it is important that you know the exact names of the items you require before phoning. Pronunciation of the drug names is unimportant. Make sure that you order your repeat prescription a few days before your tablets are finished. However, if you are at risk of running out please tell the receptionist who will make every effort to process your prescription urgently.
